Here is some history of pi...

Pi was found by the romans and is the circumference of
a circle or the distance around the outside of a circle.

Pi's Name


The symbol for pi ,π, is the first letter of the word
for perimeter in the Greek language. Pi is often used to
find the perimeter, or circumference, of a circle.
Pi,in the greek alphabet,(the first letters are alpha&
beta)has a neighboring letter called "omicron" it looks like
this:o'(this is just an "o" with an apostrophe!). Look at the bottom for other cool symbols!

Formulas Using Pi


Pi is used for finding the circumference of a circle:
d= diameter c= circumference r= radius π= pi

d= r x 2
d= c ÷ π
c= d x π
c= r x 2 x π

The Number π

Pi is an irrational number; it can not be a fraction. Pi
never ends and it doesn't repeat a single number in
itself.

FUN FACT:The 10 millionth digit in pi is the longest recorded
number in pi
